When you come to Johor Bahru and using a road that headed from Skudai to the city of Johor Bahru, you will notice there is a big mosque at the hill. That was called as Masjid Sultan Abu Bakar. The interesting thing is, the mosque are build at the top of the hill and facing Selat Tebrau which makes you can see a good view of Singapore across the sea.
It was named as Masjid Sultan Abu Bakar because this mosque are builds during His Highness Sir Sultan Abu Bakar's reign. It was build starts from 1892 and completed on 1900. This mosque architecture design by Victorian Style architecture and Moorish and supervised maintained by Civil Engineer of Johor at that time, Dato' Yahya Awal. The architecture that responsible too build this mosque is Tuan Haji Mohamed Arif bin Punak which is the skillful architect during those period of time.
This mosque and the view of Singapore are very beautiful on the night. It is also a tourist attraction especially the tourist from British due to the architecture design.
